Magnus Theatre is the only professional theatre between Winnipeg and Barrie. We offer students the unique opportunity to learn about theatre in a welcoming and supportive space, guided by trained and experienced theatre professionals. Young Company gives participants a glimpse into the world of professional stage acting - from the audition process to the rehearsal hall and then performing for live audiences on Magnus Theatre stages. Supported by Magnus’ team of professional designers and technicians, the cast will develop foundational theatre skills and then demonstrate what they’ve learned in a full-length production in spring 2025.

× Presented in partnership with the Canadian Music Centre, Composers Canvas brings together a powerful ensemble of Northwestern Ontario’s emerging and established musicians for an evening of bold contemporary music. Featuring original works by Canadian composers, the program reflects the people, landscapes, and soundscapes of Northwestern Ontario. The project is dedicated to providing a platform for emerging composers and performers — amplifying new voices and creating space for music that challenges tradition. Curated by composer and violist Amani Sloley, this concert also marks his final creative project in Thunder Bay before relocating abroad. It offers a meaningful send-off and a celebration of the region’s vibrant artistic community.

× Summer Junior Camp (Ages 5-8) Animal Kingdom

Step into the enchanting world of the Animal Kingdom, where every creature has a story to tell! In this camp, young actors will transform into animals of all kinds, from majestic lions to playful monkeys. Through creative storytelling, imaginative costumes, and lively performances, campers will explore the adventures and friendships of their animal characters. With a focus on teamwork and empathy, they'll learn to express emotions and actions through the eyes of their animal alter-egos. Join us for a wild and wonderful journey into the heart of nature!

Saddle up for a rip-roaring Wild West Adventure! Campers will journey back to the days of cowboys and outlaws! Through exciting scenes, games and activities performers will develop their acting skills and learn about life in the Wild West. They'll create their own characters, design costumes, and even choreograph a classic western showdown. It's time to ride into a summer of thrilling escapades and unforgettable memories.

Through character development, stage combat, and storytelling, campers will discover the power of courage, determination, and creativity. Through this hands-on, all-encompassing experience, campers will learn the intricacies of theatre production, culminating in a final performance that showcases their hard work and creativity.

Embark on an epic quest with our Dungeons and Dragons theatre camp! Inspired by the beloved role-playing game, this camp invites young adventurers to create fantastical characters and embark on a journey through mystical lands. You’ll spend half the week rolling the dice in an actual game of DnD and the other half learning and performing Dungeons & Dragons Improv. With imaginative role-playing and creative problem-solving, this camp offers a thrilling and immersive experience for all aspiring heroes and heroines.
