Young Company Presents: The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui Friday, May 23, 2025 at 7:30 PM EDT

Magnus Theatre
× Young Company Presents: The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui
Step into the gritty streets of 1930s Chicago, where crime and corruption reign supreme, and power lurks in the shadows. Arturo Ui, an unassuming gangster, rises to the top—but at what cost? With razor-sharp wit and searing satire, Bertolt Brecht’s The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui dissects the allure of tyranny and the fragility of democracy. This darkly comedic allegory exposes the dangerous parallels between mob rule and fascist politics—a chilling reminder that history repeats itself when we aren’t paying attention.
