Young Company (Age 13-18) Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 5:30 PM EDT

Magnus Theatre
× Course Term:
Wednesday, September 18, 2024 - May 24, 2025 (5:30PM - 7:30PM)
Course Fee:

Magnus Theatre is the only professional theatre between Winnipeg and Barrie. We offer students the unique opportunity to learn about theatre in a welcoming and supportive space, guided by trained and experienced theatre professionals. Young Company gives participants a glimpse into the world of professional stage acting - from the audition process to the rehearsal hall and then performing for live audiences on Magnus Theatre stages. Supported by Magnus’ team of professional designers and technicians, the cast will develop foundational theatre skills and then demonstrate what they’ve learned in a full-length production in spring 2025.

This year we are excited to introduce our new Young Company: Studio production to be performed in December 2024. This additional production will give greater focus on participants acting skills by looking at tougher texts in a more stripped back performance style. Our inaugural Studio performance will be a double header of One Act plays: DNA by Dennis Kelly and Is My Microphone On? by Jordan Tannahill.

Previous Young Company productions have included Frankenstein, The 39 Steps as well as the hilarious Potter parody - Puffs! This year delve into the macabre world of the Grimm Tales. Experience these classic stories as you have never seen them, presented with a dystopian twist! Members of Young Company also get access to free or discounted access to other Magnus TIE workshops and masterclasses as well as free membership to our Student Club season ticket program.

PLEASE NOTE: When selecting our 'Initial Payment' Option for Young Company, you are agreeing to make two additional payments of $225 on the following dates: January 29th, 2025 & March 26th, 2025.
