EDCT The Colourless Chronicles Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 1:30 PM EST
Magnus TheatreCommunity Performance
Imagine a world that’s bleak, bland, and boring…where colours, fun, and dreams have disappeared. That’s the bleak, bland, boring reality Sage lives in, controlled by the strict Bureau of Thought and Thinks, whose mantra is "Productivity, Compliance, Order, Efficiency." Imagination is forbidden, and everyone is expected to follow the rules without question.
EDCT’s captivating caper, The Colourless Chronicles is a bright and exciting journey about rediscovering who you are, dreaming big, and painting the world with hope, while celebrating the power of creativity and the joy of your inner self. In a grey, colourless world, Sage and their friends embark on a daring journey through a hidden door to a realm of wild dreams and vibrant imagination. Guided by a quirky Archivist, a Rainbow rebellion, their own Dream Self, and the mysterious Inner Child, they must uncover the truth behind the lost power of dreaming. Together, they face the controlling Boss and the Bureau’s grip on creativity, determined to reignite the world with colour, hope, and endless possibilities.
This original story, written and performed by local youth actors aged 6-18 in collaboration with adult writers, brings a brand-new script to life, for the first time, with both public and discounted school performances from February 6 - 8, 2025.
The Colourless Chronicles will take audiences on a creative quest of rediscovery, the power of imagination, and the boundless potential of youth.
*For school bookings and accessible seating please call the Box Office at (807) 345-5552.
