For Grades K - 3: HEAD À TÊTE by Robert Morgan and David S Craig

HEAD À TÊTE is the story of two strangers who overcome the barriers of language and mistrust to find friendship. Set in a barren, cold and windy land that was once a beautiful garden, the story unfolds with the arrival of a strange cage-like object, and the growth of a magical tree bearing ͞fruit͟. When a French-speaking and an English-speaking stranger discover the tree, a standoff begins. Tensions rise, but it is through the loss and rebirth of the tree that they find peace in each other's company.

For Grades 4 - 8: LAND OF TRASH by Ian Tamblyn Nuke and Stryder live on a climate-ravaged Earth where speech is jumbled and time is scarce. While fleeing ͞new world͟ law enforcers, they discover a toxic waste dump filled with relics of the "old world." There they meet Carson, an old man with a secret that offers hope for the future. Together, they work to build a brighter tomorrow͕ showing that it͛s never too late to reverse the damages of pollution.

For High School: THE CODE by Rachel Aberle Moira takes pride in standing up for what she believes in. But after leading a protest that results in the spring dance being cancelled, she receives threatening statements online and at school. Her best friends Simon and Connor have her back ʹ until Simon confesses romantic feelings Moira doesn't return. Feeling ͞friend-njoned͕͟ Simon joins the barrage of hurtful comments͕ forcing Connor to take a hard look at where his loyalties lie. With humor and nuance, THE CODE explores the murky line between friendship and romance, and challenges teens to hold themselves accountable for their words and actions.
